Junior Gravity Group Coaching
Head for the Hills is committed to supporting development pathways in mountain biking, particularly for junior riders and racers. Our Junior Gravity Group Coaching program is aimed at young riders who are currently (or soon to be) racing Downhill and/or Gravity Enduro. The program is designed to give riders access to regular coaching in a supportive group environment. It focuses on teaching bike handling & control techniques (particularly during descents), risk analysis and management as well as introducing riders to race preparation and strategies.
We have an intake of riders approximately every six months, around June and December. The program consists of eight sessions which are two hours long, delivered over a six month period. We aim to cater for riders aged 12 - 18 and try to group riders based on age and ability. Although we do our absolute best to accept and accommodate all applicants, it is sometimes necessary to decline based on numbers (high or low) and the applicants suitability.Register Now

We are currently taking applications from riders interested in joining the Junior Gravity Group Coaching Program in January 2019. Please use the form below to register your name. Groups will be capped at 8 riders per group and riders will be selected on a first come first served basis if maximum numbers are reached. The cost per rider is $250 and a non-refundable $50 deposit* will be taken upon registration.

The majority of coaching will be delivered at the Fox Creek trail network however the venue may vary depending on the specific requirements of individual session plans. In the event a session is cancelled it will be rescheduled to an alternative date. We train in most conditions, however stormy weather, extreme heat and total fire bans may force a reschedule. We do our best to avoid scheduling sessions on Saturdays due to other sporting commitments however it is occasionally unavoidable. Scheduling is also plannned to avoid clashes with major racing events such as Inside Line & GESA races. Refunds, discounts or credits unfortunately cannot be given for any missed sessions.
* Booking deposit is non-rufundable. Refunds will be given only to participants who cannot attend due to excess/lack of numbers.
We will email all applicants closer to the closing date to issue any updated information including session times. Final groups may not be confirmed until after the initial session as we may need to asses ability level and make adjustments to ensure the best outcome and learning environment for all participants. Once your application has been accepted, we will invoice remainig course fees which can be paid by bank transfer.
